As we wrap up Q1 2023, it’s clear that the real estate market is still being impacted by higher interest rates, leading to slower market activity. However, our team at HouseCanary has been hard at work improving our core solutions to ensure that our clients have access to the most accurate insights possible during these uncertain times.

In this edition of our quarterly newsletter, we highlight some exciting new and upgraded features that can help you make better decisions across the investment, valuation, and analytics space – as well as features that may help you enhance engagement with your customers in the months to come. 

New Releases & Updates: HouseCanary Solutions 

Introducing HouseCanary’s Market Insight Solutions: We’re excited to announce the debut of Market Insights, a solution that provides market-level insights aimed at guiding investment decisions for SFR investors. Our clients can explore trends and track performance down to the MSA- and ZIP-level through interactive visuals. We’re also expanding the amount of market information available, exposing our core Market Pulse dataset that allows clients to get a data-driven assessment of current market trends at a state, MSA and zip code levels on a weekly basis.

Data Explorer: In Q1 2023, we’ve invested heavily in our core API capabilities. Our clients can now programmatically derive comparable properties (for both rentals and sales) and estimate HOA fees through customizable endpoints. Plus, with the markets becoming more volatile, we’ve expanded our market information offering to include our Market Pulse analytics dataset. This dataset provides a data-driven assessment of current market trends at state, MSA and zip code levels on a weekly basis. And that’s not all – we’ve also made major improvements to our Data Explorer web application. The design and interface have been streamlined, making it even more intuitive and efficient for processing multiple properties via spreadsheets.

 Property Explorer: We’ve made significant updates to our flagship product, Property Explorer, designed to help you underwrite properties quickly and efficiently. We’ve optimized the speed and accuracy of property information and completely rebuilt the user experience. This enables users to more effectively underwrite, analyze, and assess individual properties, with more customizations that tailor the workflow to your individual needs. All these features are backed by HouseCanary’s leading data, analytics, and brokerage capabilities.


New Releases & Updates: ComeHome by HouseCanary

New Product Features: ComeHome is our customer engagement platform, for the entire home buying and home ownership journey that can be co-branded and integrates seamlessly into your existing digital experience. In an effort to increase user goals on ComeHome, we will be updating ComeHome with various experiments. 

Higher Converting CTA’s: In an effort to increase user goals on ComeHome, we will be updating ComeHome with new CTAs and functionality:

  • Added Header Lender CTA for Desktop/Mobile: To promote high value goals, we have included a “Lender CTA” option on the Property Details Page menu navigation.
  • Added new “Contact Agent” button and functionality to the PDP: This allows users to easily get in touch with an agent.
  • Backend – Recent Search History: We now track “Recent User Activity” over their past 15 searches in order to drive better user engagement.
  • UI update to CTAs and feature flag: We’ve added a new entry point to “View Recent Activity” within the watchlist section and search results page to view their previous home searches and homes viewed for a quick and easy way to save properties and searches.
  • Connect to API for recently viewed properties and searches: We’ve connected the above mentioned “Recent Activity” APIs with our frontend.

Activities Webhook: This work is to provide a way for Partners to add their webhook URLs easily to receive data for their specific ComeHome instance when it is created in our server(s) instead of polling our API.

ADA Update: ComeHome has always valued being accessible. To further improve our accessibility, we’ve devoted a team to update and enhance our experience.
